枯白 Koku
枯白（こく）は、兵庫県姫路市の家具工房
2009年に小さな作業場で小さな道具作りからはじまりました
素材として使用する木や鉄、真鍮や革は
日々の生活のなかで使っていくうちに
人の肌に含まれる水分や油分によってより深く趣を増します
「枯」という字には
人やものが練れて深みが増す、円熟した深い味わいが出る
という意味が含まれています
また「白」には
新しさや、ものごとがはじまる原点のような新鮮さ
という意味をもっています
「枯白」という名前には
作品が経年の中で使う人のものとしてあじわい深く枯れ
よりいと白い表情になればという意味を込めています
木と鉄に加え、ステンレス真鍮、銅、革、硝子などを使用し
素材そのものがもっている魅力をどのように活かすか考え
イメージスケッチを形にしています
Koku products is a furniture workshop in Hyogo Japan.
We use mainly wood, iron, blass and leather.
All materials will become more mature over time.
[ 枯 ] means to have an antique look.
[ 白 ] means the color white.
Together these symbols mean [ renewal ].
This is our aesthetic philosophy.
We hope every product will become more beautiful with use.
First we choose our raw materials with care,
then we make a sketch and then we create with our sence of beauty.
We make every products by our selves.
We hope our products will age beautifully and have a long life.
兵庫県にて生まれる
沖縄県立芸術大学 デザイン学科と彫刻科でそれぞれデザインや写真、溶接演習、鉄工を含めた彫刻を学ぶ。在学中にドイツ留学。
地元兵庫へ戻り高校の美術講師として勤務しながら木と鉄を使用した家具や室内道具の製作を始める。
市内３箇所の工房移転を経て、2024 年、15周年を迎える年に「家具を作るように家を建てる」という思いで床や壁、建具などを自分たちで仕上げた工房と居宅を建築（兵庫県姫路市夢前町）
国内に限らず、中国、台湾、アイスランドなど海外でも個展を開催。工房ではイベントやお話会を開催するなど幅広い活動を行っている。

In 2024, marking our 15th anniversary, we built a new workshop and residence in Yumesaki, Himeji (Hyogo Prefecture), finishing the floors, walls, and fittings ourselves—just like making furniture.
Held solo exhibitions not only in Japan but also overseas, including China, Taiwan, and Iceland. Also engage in a wide range of activities such as hosting events and talk sessions at the workshop.
